We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Front-End Developer with a strong background in Web Development. The successful candidate will lead our front-end development team, drive innovation, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, user-centric applications. You will work closely with our back-end developers, UX/UI designers and product managers to create seamless and responsive web applications.

Team
Working hard together with a lot of fun, that is what we do. The IT department consists of around 35 highly motivated colleagues, which are working together into multiple smaller teams. A good atmosphere and sociability is very important within our organisation.

You are an experienced lead front-end developer with strong communication skills, and you are able to lead a team and bring out the best in them. Your ambition is unstoppable and you continuously like to develop yourself into your field.
You are used to work on complex applications in an informal atmosphere. You are good at your job and understand the principle of a healthy workload combined with fun and collegiality. Besides working hard, you are also in for a drink once in a while. You are coachable and know how to give others feedback. Together with your team leader, you will also work on your own development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of front-end developers.
  • Design, develop and maintain robust, scalable front-end applications using Javascript/TypeScript and modern front-end technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and ship new features.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Ensure cross-browsers and cross-devices compatibility.
  • Build user-friendly and intuitive interfaces.
  • Optimize applications for security, efficiency and scalability.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications remain at the cutting edge.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues and bugs.
  • Document front-end solutions and provide guidelines for its usage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Lead Front-End Developer or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in web technologies with a good understanding of its ecosystems.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and responsive design.
  • Extensive experience with modern front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g. React, Angular).
  • Proficient in NodeJS and its ecosystem. 
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integration with back-end services.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g.: Git).
  • Experience with Docker, Docker Compose.
  • Experience with code linter (e.g.: JSLint, ESLint)
  • Experience with code quality tools (e.g.: JSHint, JSCS, SonarQube)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development processes is a plus.
  • Good understanding about web servers, security and its configurations.
  • Familiarity with build tools and task runners.
  • You are fluent in English both verbally and in writing.
